Yarn is a continuous strip of textile fiber with certain mechanical properties, fineness and softness.
Usually the so-called "yarn" is actually a general term for "yarn" and "thread". It is generally defined as: yarn is a continuous linear object made of various textile fibers. It is fine and soft, and has the basic properties required for textile processing and final product use. In textiles, yarn and thread are often defined separately, i.e. yarn is a product with a certain strength and linear density by arranging many staple fibers or filaments in an approximate line state and twisting them along the axis, while thread is a product formed by twisting two or more single yarns, which is called yarn.
Yarns can be classified into different types according to different classification criteria.
According to the structure and shape of yarn, it can be roughly divided into 10 kinds.
Monofilament: a continuous single root system with long length.
Multifilament: a tow consisting of two or more monofilaments.
Twisting yarn: made of multifilament yarn.
Composite twisting yarn: composite twisting thread after repeated or multiple twists and turns.
Deformed yarn: The chemical fiber precursor is deformed and processed to have the appearance characteristics of crimp, helix, ring and so on. The purpose of processing is to increase the fluffiness, flexibility and elasticity of the craftsman. According to the performance and characteristics of the grab, there are usually three kinds of stretch yarn, bulky yarn and network yarn.
Single yarn: a single continuous strip formed by spinning staple fibers.
Strands: two or more single yarns combined with twists. If the two single yarns are combined, they are called double strands, and three or more are called multi strands. The strand is then combined and twisted to become a twisted yarn.
Fancy yarns: yarns made by special processes with special appearance and color, including fancy yarns and decorative yarns. It is formed by twisting core yarn, ornamental yarn and fixed yarn on pattern twister. The surface has special appearance or color such as knot, ring, braid, spiral and wave.
Expansion yarn: Expansion yarn is a kind of full yarn with high softness, which is processed by heat shrinkage of proletal fiber. The low shrinkage and high shrinkage aliphatic fibers were blended into yarns in a certain proportion, and then the yarns were set by relaxation heat. In this way, high shrinkage fiber shrinkage, forming yarn core, low shrinkage fiber shrinkage is small, is squeezed on the surface to form a cause arc, thus making a fluffy yarn.
Core-spun yarn: yarn formed by wrapping other fibers or yarns with filament or staple yarn as the core.
